Do you (or someone you work with) want to get your CPIM certification but don’t have time to travel to a class each week?  Our blended learning classes let you do just that.  Only the first and last class will be face-to-face.  The balance of the classes will be facilitated online live by an instructor.

Prerequisite:           None

There are two parts (and two exams) to the CPIM certification.  This course will cover both Parts 1 & 2 and will allow time in between for students to take the Part 1 exam. 

 

CPIM - Certified Production & Inventory Management Part 1 and Part 2

The APICS CPIM program is designed to educate individuals in the various concepts, methodologies, terminology, and integration of topics within the supply chain and operations management functions.  

Our instructor-led course is a comprehensive professional development and certification preparation training program.  It combines reading material and interactive web-based study tools to enhance the learning effectiveness.  

Our experienced, certified instructors will lead you through the learning process.   The learning system consists of the following key elements that compliment the course content to be covered by our Instructor:

Part 1 is the Basics of Supply Chain Management.  It is universally recognized, entry-level supply chain training.  It serves as the foundation for earning the CPIM certification.

This training helps individuals prepare for the CPIM Part 1 exam with extensive reading materials and several hundred on-line practice questions.  Under the guidance of your instructor you will access your current knowledge, learn or refresh concepts and best practices, reinforce knowledge with quizzes and tests, participate in learning activities, participate in practice exams, and measure your progress through a post test.

CPIM Part 2 provides with extensive reading materials and several hundred on-line practice questions.  Under the guidance of your instructor you will access your current knowledge, learn or refresh concepts and best practices, reinforce knowledge with quizzes and tests, participate in learning activities, participate in practice exams, and measure your progress through a post test.

The four Modules in Part 2 focus on internal operations:

    • Understanding the business environment
    • Developing operations strategy
    • Implementing operations strategy
  • Master Planning of Resources
    • A plan of supply
    • Relating management of demand to manufacturing, distribution and service environments
    • Developing and validating the master schedule
  • Detailed Scheduling and Planning
    • Detailed descriptions of material requirements planning
    • Capacity requirements planning
    • Inventory management practices
    • Procurement and supplier planning
  • Execution and Control of Operations
    • Execution of operational plans and schedules
    • Control of the work completed and the analysis of results
    • Management of and communication in the workplace
    • The importance of utilizing appropriate design principles
