Membership eligibility requirements
- You must be enrolled as a full-time student (according to your educational institution's policy) at an accredited college or university.

- Your APICS membership remains active even if you change schools and is valid for one full year.

Overview / background of the SIU Student Chapter
The APICS SIU Chapter is focusing on improving students member experience through several programs and holding events throughout the semester. The Leadership Program is a program that helps students build their leadership skills, teamwork skills, and communication skills through planning and running different events during the semester. APICS SIU Chapter also have a Future Leader Program, which having current executive board members train and prepare new members to be able to take board position smoothly in the future. In order to better prepare students to the real business word, SIU Chapter started a Mentorship Program that allow students to go to workplace to observe study field related job, that would help students to set right career path when they graduate.
Meetings and Events
The APICS SIU chapter offers Professional Development meetings with the parent chapter to help the students meet with working professionals and understand the business environment. It is a great place to network and build relations with the top leaders from local companies.
Apart from this, the SIU chapter also offers student PDM's in the SIU College of Business every semester and the speakers in these PDM’s give current business topics related information.
There is one open meeting on Wednesday evening 5:30PM and one board meeting on Tuesday at 6:30 PM every month in the College of Business - Rehn Hall.
There are also plant tours and mentorship programs that allow students to see how the companies operate and better prepare them for decision making in future jobs.
Also, the SIU chapter offers the BASICS class to prepare for CPIM certification.
