Meetings and Events

The APICS NIU chapter offers Professional Development meetings with the parent chapter to help the students meet with working professionals and understand the business environment. It is a great place to network and build relations with the top leaders from local companies.

Apart from this, the NIU chapter also offers student PDM's in the NIU College of Business every semester and the speakers in these PDM’s give current business topics related information.

There is one open meeting on Wednesday evening 5:30PM and one board meeting on Tuesday at 6:30 PM every month in the OM&IS conference room at the College of Business - Barsema Hall.

There are also plant tours and mentorship programs that allow students to see how the companies operate and better prepare them for decision making in future jobs.

Also, the NIU chapter offers the BASICS class to prepare for CPIM certification.

2016 APICS Great Lakes District Student Case Competition
February 19-20, 2016

DoubleTree Hotel & Conference Center in Downers Grove IL

2111 Butterfield Road
Downers Grove, IL 60515

Why a case competition?

Student Case Competitions are based on a real company with a specific operations and supply chain problem. They are designed to encourage students to; compare their education with that of other students, test their classroom education and its usefulness in solving real-world situations, and foster Student Chapter involvement in District and Professional Chapter activities. Activities such as this enable establishing a solid APICS foundation as a college student, and help you into your professional career.

Why should I Attend?

As a Supply Chain Professional, this is your chance to meet some of the brightest students in the Great Lakes District. Many of these students are looking for internships and future employment. This is also your chance to network with other APICS professionals. You will also have exposure to numerous presentations on both business and APICS topics.

Additional information is available at the APICS Great Lakes District Website
